JOB OPPORTUNITY - Hunter Support Agent
The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supra municipal body with jurisdiction over the
territory located north of the 55th parallel, is now looking for a self-motivated and dynamic
individual interested in joining the KRG to work in the capacity of:
HSP REGIONAL AGENT
(Permanent, full-time)
The Regional HSP Section, of the Renewable Resources, Environment, Lands and Parks
Department of the KRG has the mandate to manage the Regional Hunter Support Programs
in Nunavik, including administration and technical assistance.
Reporting to the Hunter Support Program (HSP) Regional Coordinator; the HSP Regional
Agent has the following duties include without being limited to:
Maintaining communication with the HSP Community Coordinators for various Regional
HSP programs;
Organize firearms safety courses with the Northern Villages;
Provide technical assistance for HSP community boat maintenance, Search & Rescue
boats, community freezers and equipment;
As required, assist in the realization of HSP regional projects and provide technical
assistance to the community programs for their projects as set out in the yearly
objectives;
Assist in the data input for reports and studies;
Participate in all Regional HSP projects;
Perform other related duties, as required, by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or related work experience;
Minimum of two (2) years experience in Hunter Support Management, Project
Management, or Leadership;
Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages:
Inuktitut, English and French;
Experience working with computer programs such as MS Office and Sage Accounting;
Possession of Firearms Instructor License is an asset;
Ability to work independently and as part of team;
Demonstrated organizational skills;
Frequent travel in the region.
Place of work: Nunavik
Salary: Minimum: $38 651/year; maximum $62 638.94/year (Class 5)
Benefits: Cost of living differential: Minimum of $ 8 500/year;
Food allowance: Minimum of $1 840year;
Annual leave trips: maximum of 3 per person annually;
Group benefits including Simplified Pension Plan;
Vacation: 20 days;
Statutory Holidays: 20 days including 10 during Christmas holidays.
